Will there be financial support available for the tourism sector from the city of Berlin?

We are well aware of the economic difficulties currently being experienced by hotels, restaurants, attractions, museums, and many other providers in our industry. In this regard visitBerlin is in close discussions with the Senate Department for Economics, the Senate Department for Finances, and the Business Development Bank of Berlin, as well as several other economic and business associations and industry agencies, such as DEHOGA (Hotel and Restaurant Association of Berlin).   

Information about financial support by emergency aid measures from both the German federal government as well as the state of Berlin can be found here. Information regarding help and support for artists and free lancers in the culture and creative industry can be found on the homepage of Creative City Berlin (in German).

The federal and state governments have now launched an aid programme for the production, distribution and cinema sectors of the film and media industry. Further information can be found on the website of the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg (in German).

The Federal Government has announced emergency measures to deal with the economic impact of the Coronavirus. Information about the support for businesses can be found on the website of the BMWi (Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Industry).

The BMWi has opened a special hotline for general economic questions on: 030 18615 1515, open from Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00.
