2018 was an outstanding year for Berlin’s congress and meetings sector
In total, Berlin hosted 143,390 events (+ 2.3% over 2017 – against only 91,000 in 2001). The approx. 11.9 million participants (+ 2%) accounted for around 8.06 million overnight stays in Berlin’s hotels – equivalent to nearly one quarter of all overnight stays in hotels in the city.

The visitBerlin Berlin Convention Office (BCO) has played a crucial role in this outstanding track record. For fifteen years, the Berlin Convention Office has been actively acquiring conferences, congresses and meetings for Germany’s capital city, supporting customers around the world with its free service. Since 2001, the BCO has brought around 1,050 events to Berlin, including European or world congresses for many international associations.
