More Than Pieces of the Wall: Berlin’s Most Popular Souvenirs
- Berlin Tourist Information centres are expanding their range to include build-it-yourself souvenirs: the TV Tower, the East Side Gallery, the ICC and the Brandenburg Gate
Berlin, 8 June 2026 Whether it’s a piece of the Wall, a magnet or a model of the TV Tower, visitors to Berlin love to take a little piece of the capital home with them as a souvenir. That’s why the Berlin Tourist Information centres run by visitBerlin are expanding their range of products.
Classics and trends
Souvenirs with a clear link to Berlin dominate the best-selling items at Berlin Tourist Information centres: magnets lead the way with a clear 35 per cent share, followed by postcards (14 per cent) and key rings (11 per cent). Berlin Wall memorabilia (7 per cent) and mugs (5 per cent) are also among the most popular souvenirs. Compact, easily transportable souvenirs are in demand, including miniatures of the Brandenburg Gate or Buddy Bears. At the same time, demand is growing for original and locally produced products, ranging from culinary specialities to design items from Berlin-based manufacturers.
Berlin at home: Landmarks to build yourself
New to the range are building block sets featuring Berlin landmarks from the Berlin-based company BRYX. Whether it’s the TV Tower, the Brandenburg Gate, the East Side Gallery, the design icon ICC or the Radio Tower, which is currently celebrating its 100th anniversary, guests can build their own personal piece of Berlin and take it home as a lasting souvenir.
Products “Made in Berlin” are also available at Berlin Tourist Info centres: from specialities such as currywurst or sauce in a jar, popcorn from Knalle, Berlin honey and spice mixes, to design products such as hand-printed magnets and mugs from Maina-Manufaktur or socks with Berlin motifs from OffBeat. There are also unusual items such as the Majathi perfume “Breath of Berlin” at the TV Tower.
Through the ‘Crafted in Berlin’ initiative, visitBerlin is showcasing the diversity of products from Berlin’s workshops at trade fairs and online. The project champions authentic craftsmanship and sustainable production
