New "Dresden Railway": Berlin now even easier to reach from BER Airport

  • From 14 December, the FEX airport express will take passengers from BER Airport to Berlin city centre in just over 20 minutes, running every 15 minutes
  • visitBerlin expressly welcomes improved transport links

Berlin, 11 December 2025 From 14 December, Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) will be quicker and easier to reach: with the launch of the new "Dresdner Bahn" railway line, the journey time of the FEX airport express between BER and the main railway station will be reduced to 23 minutes. At the same time, the frequency will double: In future, the FEX will run every 15 minutes instead of every 30 minutes. visitBerlin expressly welcomes this significant improvement.

The FEX will thus become the fastest connection between the airport and the main railway station. It will only stop at two stations – Südkreuz and Potsdamer Platz – and will use the new 16-kilometre southern route instead of the previous route via Ostkreuz and Gesundbrunnen. Five years after the opening of BER, the Dresdner Bahn will complete the airport's rail connection. The Berlin–Dresden route will also benefit: the journey time will be reduced by around ten minutes.
