Berlin had to reinvent itself after the fall of the Wall, says Kieker: "Berlin is like a phoenix from the ashes. (...) 35 years ago, the wall came down and we had to start from scratch." The question of what makes Berlin special today was answered by the national and international guests: "You are the city of freedom."
Berlin is also a place of contrasts: "Berlin is adrenaline. And at the same time - it's chillout." After a day full of impressions and museum visits, you can relax in the Tiergarten, for example.
Kieker sees a current travel trend in so-called cool locations
Many Mediterranean regions are increasingly suffering from extreme heat in summer - Berlin, on the other hand, is positioning itself as an attractive, climatically more pleasant alternative. The message to travellers is that those who want to escape the summer heat will find cool forests, refreshing lakes, exciting museums and a nightlife that is as legendary as it is "cool" in Berlin.
