Berlin enters the quarter-finals after the round of 16 at UEFA EURO 2024
Fan Zones at the Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag break visitor records
Berlin, 5 July 2024 Fantastic first knockout round of UEFA EURO 2024! More than 100,000 spectators in the Berlin Fan Zones set a record for the first round of 16 match between Germany and Denmark. In front of the world's largest football goal, fans of the national team cheered on the success of their "boys".
In total, around 600,000 Berliners and guests from Europe and around the world have visited the two Fan Zones since they opened. In addition to public viewing, they have once again enjoyed a colourful entertainment programme with live DJs, performances and workshops over the past few days - and have not let the occasional rain shower dampen their spirits.
All of Berlin is in football fever and the Berlin TV tower is also "playing": Visible throughout Berlin, it will be illuminated every evening until the final.
After two days of rest, exciting matches await us again today: Germany vs Spain and Portugal vs France. And tomorrow evening, the Netherlands and Turkey will play for a place in the semi-finals at Berlin's Olympic Stadium.
