Half-time: Berlin takes stock of the UEFA EURO 2024
The images of the football spectacle are priceless worldwide advertising for Berlin
Berlin, 28 June 2024 Berlin is all about football and celebrating the UEFA EURO - the mood among our national and international guests is excellent. The UEFA EURO 2024 has been thrilling the capital and its guests for a fortnight now. Not only tourism is benefiting from the football event, but the entire city. Berlin's entire hospitality industry is "playing" at the highest level: hotels, catering, cultural landscape and airport. Berlin shows a friendly face and presents itself as a hospitable, cosmopolitan and international metropolis.
Due to EURO2024, visitBerlin is expecting an increase in the number of visitors from the countries that played their preliminary round matches in Berlin in June. These include the Netherlands, Spain, Austria, Croatia and Poland. This is shown by market research data such as the increased demand for ticket bookings for flights to BER.
Berlin will benefit greatly from this celebration of football. The EURO is the third largest sporting event in the world and is particularly worthy of attention. The images from our fan mile at the Brandenburg Gate and the Olympic Stadium will go around the world and are priceless advertising. The European Championships thus help to keep Berlin among the top international city destinations. (June 2024)
