Clean and Green Berlin

Since 2014, working with partners, the Clean and Green campaign (Berlin. Einfach sauberhaft) has been encouraging local volunteers to show their love for Berlin’s many green spaces in a community clean up. Aside from clearing away litter thoughtlessly left in the parks, the volunteers also talk to park users on site to raise awareness and make Berlin even more attractive.

The past years have seen up to 40 volunteers cleaning up Boxhagener Platz, Friedrichshain Park, Kreuzberg’s canal-side Planufer, and the Monbijou Park, removing the litter from picnics and fast food packaging left behind on warm summer evenings. Their commitment on the ground (literally!) has a signal effect promoting a cleaner Berlin.
