Oder Region Health
The promotion of Berlin as a medical destination has been implemented by visitBerlin since 2010, and various medical tourism measures have already been implemented in the Polish market since 2020. The Polish-language version of the medical tourism website http://www.berlin-health-excellence.com is seeing an increase in Polish visitors.
Oder Region Health - Initiative
In September 2023, the Oder Partnership - Medical Tourism Network initiative was launched, which visitBerlin is leading and managing under the Oder Region Health brand. The aim is to establish a network of medical and tourism service providers in the Oder region. By establishing a cross-border health tourism network, the aim is to facilitate the exchange of experience and highlight the complementary skills of the different countries. This should ultimately optimize and expand the existing offer for international patients. Participating partners are presented on the website www.oder-region-health.eu.
The most important measures of the project include partner meetings in the Oder region with opportunities to get to know local facilities and network, the provision and exchange of medical tourism information, the four-language landing page, various social media measures and the presentation of the Oder region's medical tourism offer at events relevant to the target group.
Review of activities 2024
Kick-Off Event Berlin
On February 1 and 2, 2024, the project was officially presented at the kick-off event in Berlin. On the first day, the project and the planned measures were presented; on the second day of the event, two site inspections were carried out at the Sporthopaedicum and the Helios Klinikum Emil von Behring.
ITB Berlin
The project was presented at the ITB in Berlin from March 5-7, 2024. With their own counter at the Berlin Brandenburg Capital Region stand in Hall 27 / 305, the contact persons were available throughout the trade fair to answer questions about the project and talk to partners.
Partner visit in Poznań
On June 6 and 7, 2024, our partner meeting took place in Poznań! Around 25 German and Polish partners from the Oder Partnership medical tourism network met for the first time, including representatives from the fields of medicine, spas, rehabilitation and wellness. On the first day, two site inspections were carried out - at the rehabilitation center Rehasport and in the hospital Szpital św. Wojciecha - Wielkopolskie Centrum Medyczne. On the second day, we presented updates on the cooperation program, our new landing page www.oder-region-health.eu and a presentation by Anna Białk-Wolf and Mariam Asefi on the German and Polish healthcare systems in comparison. Other expert presentations were given by Mr. Mathias Gersonde (Bad Belzig Kur GmbH) and Mr. Andrzej Sokolowski (OSSP).
Partner visit in Dresden
The partner meeting on September 11 and 12, 2024 offered the participants site inspections at the University Hospital Universitätsklinikum Carl Gustav Carus Dresden and the Evangelical Lutheran Deaconess Institution Dresden Universitätsklinikum Carl Gustav Carus Dresden as well as valuable expert presentations and, of course, time for mutual exchange. Thanks to the support of Dresden Marketing, sightseeing and culinary delights Dresden Marketing rounded off the informative and stimulating visit to Saxony's state capital.
AccessAbilities Expo Dubai
From October 7 to 9, 2020, Oder Region Health presented itself at the AccessAbilities Expo in Dubai, one of the largest trade fairs for people with disabilities and in the field of rehabilitation in the Middle East. There, valuable international B2B contacts were made and the Oder Region's health tourism offer was presented to trade fair visitors.
Planned Activities 2025
Partner Meeting and MTT Trade Fair in Wrocław (Breslau)
Our next partner meeting will take place from 20-21.03.2025 in conjunction with the MTT trade fair in Wrocław. Or Region Health will be represented with a stand at the international tourism fair. This is an ideal opportunity for partners to combine networking and visiting local facilities with insights into current trends and addressing relevant target groups at the trade fair. In addition, the second part of the webinar series on “Dealing with Arab guests” will take place as an on-site event.
