Berlin, August 2024 Summer is a time for fresh impressions - and with spectacular attractions, immersive exhibitions and stylish rooftop bars, Berlin has plenty of new places just waiting to be discovered and tried out.

New attractions
A highlight - in the truest sense of the word - is the latest attraction with thrills at the highest level: Europe's highest swing is located on the roof terrace of the Park Inn by Radisson Berlin Alexanderplatz at a height of 120 metres with a view over the whole of Berlin. Daredevils can experience the ultimate adrenaline rush on the ‘High Swing’.
‘On the other hand, the Berlin natural bobsleigh run on the Kienberg, which is directly adjacent to the Gardens of the World, is all about going downhill. On the recently reopened 500 metre long track, the bobsleighs race through the natural landscape at speeds of up to 40 km/h.
In contrast, the world is literally turned upside down in the ‘Upside Down’. With the help of optical illusions, the immersive spatial experiences constantly offer new and exciting templates for the next social media motif.
museums and exhibitions
New museums and exhibitions
Float weightlessly in space or literally walk on the ceiling: Many things are possible in the new Paradox Museum. The museum puts human perception to the test with optical illusions such as an inverted room in which everything is upside down and also offers numerous motifs for unusual photos.
Extravagant and a little bizarre - that's what Tim Burton's films are all about. Until 3 November, ‘Tim Burton's Labyrinth’ invites you to immerse yourself in the dark and macabre world of the cult director. Whether Edward with the Scissor Hands, Beetlejuice or Jack Skellington - more than 200 original works of art, some of them life-size installations, await visitors on this immersive journey.
Hardly any other pharaoh is surrounded by more myths than Tutankhamun. Thanks to state-of-the-art multimedia technology, the exhibition of the same name will not only take visitors to the tomb of the young pharaoh from 6 September, but also to the entire fascinating civilisation of ancient Egypt.
hotels
New hotels in Berlin
Berlin's hotel landscape is synonymous with creative ideas and unusual concepts. It is therefore no surprise that the hotel brand ‘Adina’ has chosen the capital as the location for its first ‘hotel of the future’ worldwide. The new lifestyle brand MM:NT is purely digital, but still human. In a prime location on Hackescher Markt, the hotel offers both windowless eleven-square-metre rooms with co-living kitchens and family flats measuring up to 25 square metres.
After extensive renovation, everything at the Courtyard by Marriott Berlin City Center feels new and is designed for maximum comfort. Since the beginning of 2024, the hotel near Checkpoint Charlie has shone in new splendour as a bright, elegant hotel in a central location.
With its 133 hotel rooms and the first open-air event space in Germany, the Radisson RED Kudamm has been positioning itself as a community space for a cosmopolitan young target group since June. The new design concept in the former Park Plaza in Berlin is emphatically individual.
bars and restaurants
New bars and restaurants
Spectacular views over the capital city at a height of more than 200 metres: the modern Sphere Bar in Berlin's TV tower is not only impressive to me with its chic retro look. The diverse selection of drinks, including the exclusive TV tower cocktail, and the breathtaking view make a visit a special experience. The view from the Waldorf Astoria's newly designed ‘Serenity Rooftop-Bar’ is no less impressive. The stylish location in City West invites guests to relax and enjoy themselves in summer.
New restaurants are also enriching the Berlin gastronomy scene: the bistro ‘Le Consulat’, for example, offers fine French cuisine, combining Parisian flair with Berlin casualness not far from Kurfürstendamm. A real tip for anyone who wants to spoil their palate once again.
The Friedrichshain hotel ‘Sly’ and its greenhouse-style restaurant are individual and surprising. The kitchen serves hearty meat and fish dishes, but also offers vegan alternatives. The new restaurant ‘Mina’ at the East Side Gallery combines classic Italian cuisine with a pinch of the Orient. Diners can enjoy a wonderful view of the Spree while they eat.
