Certified sustainability for the Berlin tourism and event industry

Who can join?
Berlin-based companies in the tourism and event industry that are planning to integrate comprehensive sustainability management into their operations can take part. It takes commitment and dedication to change internal processes.
Regardless of whether you are already a sustainability professional or the topic is still new to you, Sustainable Berlin helps companies to continuously improve - and thus to work systematically and purposefully on the company's success.
Our Sustainable Berlin Commitment is an alternative to certification for companies that are not yet ready for full certification.
The steps towards certification
1. Take part in an online information event
2. Fill out the participation form for the certification programme
Simply take part in one of our online information events without obligation, where all your questions will be answered. If you have decided to apply for certification, you can register for the programme online with just a few clicks.
3. Participation in the roadmap workshop
4. Use free coaching and further training modules
In the roadmap workshop, we take stock together. Where does your company stand in terms of sustainability?
You can then work on specific areas with the help of the training modules and individual counselling days.
5. Complete the documents
6. Register for the audit
Once you have done this, submit all the documents to us so that we can assess whether you are ready for the audit.

conveniently online.
What happens after the audit?
After successfully completing the audit, your company will receive a certificate and the opportunity to display a seal with the Sustainable Berlin logo on your own website or in sales channels. The seal shows how your company has performed in the audit. In this way, you are not only transparent for consumers, but can also make progress tangible in your sustainability communication. A shortened follow-up audit is due once a year.
Your company is part of the Sustainable Berlin network on LinkedIn, at live networking events (Meetups) and in the Sustainable Berlin News. Depending on whether your company is located in the tourism or event industry, or both, we will draw attention to your services and certification on our websites. Thanks to the certification criteria officially and internationally recognised by the GSTC, certified hotels and accommodation establishments can identify themselves on booking.com as sustainable establishments in the highest category 3+.
