In 2016, even though the figures may suggest slight market saturation, Berlin still retained its ranking as the most popular city break destination for people from Denmark.

Berlin remained one of the most popular destinations for Danish tourists in 2016. The German capital city’s attraction is not solely due to good transport links, but also to the widespread and positive reports on Berlin in the media. Visitors from Denmark are drawn both by Berlin’s image as a creative city and its good value for money. To retain these high levels of visitors from Denmark, we are constantly striving to offer new attractive reasons to visit Berlin.

Our exclusive HOME Opera press event in Copenhagen in October, an innovative idea realised together with German National Tourist Board (GNTB), provided the highlight in our marketing activities over the year.

Elsewhere, we also joined TMB Tourismus-Marketing Brandenburg and MV Mecklenburg West Pomerania for a press lunch on the new, ultra-modern hybrid Berlin ferry run by our cooperation partner Scandlines. The refurbished Berlin ferry going into operation in May provided a suitable springboard for various marketing activities for trade and end customers.

In 2016, visitBerlin again took part in the Danish Travel Show Ferie for alle in Herning in February.
