Berlin Freedom Week: A week of freedom with more than 130 events at over 80 venues
From 8 to 15 November 2025, Berlin – the city of freedom – invites you to the first Berlin Freedom Week: a new city-wide celebration dedicated to freedom and democratic exchange. Marking the 36th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the German capital will become an international stage for committed voices, bold ideas and shared visions. The week features conferences, talks with contemporary witnesses, workshops, film screenings and interactive formats for all generations – open to Berliners and international guests alike. Berlin Freedom Week creates space for reflection, dialogue and encounter – in a city that stands for the value of freedom like no other.

Berlin Freedom Conference: The central highlight of Berlin Freedom Week on 10 November
Over 60 international speakers from politics, business, civil society and the media will discuss in keynotes and panels how freedom and democracy can be defended and strengthened in the face of growing autocracies.

The first Berlin Freedom Week is being initiated by visitBerlin, the Axel Springer Freedom Foundation and the World Liberty Congress, the Berlin Commissioner for the Reappraisal of the SED Dictatorship and the Robert Havemann Society.
