Berlin Freedom Week: A week of freedom
From 7 to 14 November 2026, Berlin – the City of Freedom – will once again host Berlin Freedom Week, a city-wide week of events centred on the themes of freedom, democracy and human rights. To mark the 37th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the capital will become an international stage for committed voices, bold ideas and shared visions. More than 150 events – including conferences, discussions with eyewitnesses, workshops, film screenings and interactive sessions for all generations – will take place, open to Berliners as well as national and international guests.

Berlin Freedom Conference: The highlight of Berlin Freedom Week on 10 November
Under the theme ‘Change is possible’, a full-day programme featuring keynote speeches and panel discussions across several stages will bring together representatives from politics, business, civil society, culture and the media. The focus will be on how democratic alliances can be strengthened in the fight against autocratic systems worldwide and how freedom can be defended.

Berlin’s Governing Mayor, Kai Wegner, is once again the patron of Berlin Freedom Week. The project partners organising the event are the Axel Springer Freedom Foundation, the Berlin Freedom Society e.V., the Robert Havemann Society, the World Liberty Congress and visitBerlin.
