Facts about the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall

Berlin, October 2024 In a few days, Berlin will be celebrating the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. The German capital is organising numerous events and activities to mark the occasion. Berlin is expecting several hundred thousand guests from all over the world. We have summarised the most important programme items for the anniversary weekend for you below.

  • 8 and 9 November (set-up on 7 November): four-kilometre-longopen-air presentation with 5,000 historical and newly designed posters on the theme of freedom along the former inner-city route of the Wall (Invalidenstraße and Axel-Springer-Straße) and selective exhibitions
     
  • 9 November, 8 - 9 pm: Festival for Freedom to mark 35 years since the fall of the Wall - the musical highlight of the celebrations along the entire event route: Berlin becomes a stage. The Berliners and guests are the band
     
  • 10 November: Democracy festival "Revolution! - and then?’ with posters of the presentation and a programme of art, culture, living history and participatory activities (Former Stasi Headquarters - Campus for Democracy)
