Mehdorn appointed as new CEO of Berlin Airports

Berlin, 8 March 2013. visitBerlin wholeheartedly welcomes the appointment of Hartmut Mehdorn as the new CEO of the airports in Berlin. In this position, he will be responsible for running the Tegel and Schönefeld airports and for developing the new BER (Berlin Brandenburg) airport as of today.

Hartmut Mehdorn is experienced in dealing with critical situations, he launched one of Europe's biggest infrastructure projects in his work with the Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) and has an extensive knowledge of the air transport industry. He can rebuild confidence in the new BER (Berlin Brandenburg) airport and quickly lead the project to its success.”

Kieker adds: "We ask Berlin Airports to make every effort to ensure that the high-speed operation of the Tegel and Schönefeld airports is maintained at the level of quality required for Germany's capital city."
