Berlin, 9 November 2010 Today visitBerlin, in cooperation with the Berlin airports, invites representatives of the US media to the traditional winter reception at the “Liberty Hall” of the Ace Hotel New York. The annual networking party is placed under the motto of the Golden Twenties. As a special guest, musical actress Sophie Berner will perform live songs from the current “Cabaret” show in Berlin.

At the three-hour reception visitBerlin CEO Burkhard Kieker and the Berlin airports will present the highlights of the coming year to the around 90 invited travel and lifestyle journalists: from the important anniversaries such as 125 years of Kurfürstendamm or 50 years of erection of the Wall, via unique exhibitions such as “Faces of the Renaissance” or “Pergamon. Panorama of the antique metropolis” to the attractive music and sports highlights which Berlin has in store for its visitors in 2011. Furthermore, the current record numbers of Berlin tourism, the most recent developments in the Berlin hotel industry and major facts on the opening of the airport Berlin-Brandenburg International (BBI) are presented.

Sophie Berner will perform the role of the easygoing scene girl Sally Bowles in “Cabaret” in the TIPI at the Kanzleramt from 11 November to 2 January 2011. The popular Berlin musical is a production of the American star choreographer and director Vincent Paterson and takes the audience to the glittery and shady milieu of the Golden Twenties.
