With this self-image, Berlin Tourismus & Kongress GmbH, operating under the visitBerlin brand, provides sustainable destination management and tourism and congress marketing for Berlin. The aim is to position Berlin as a sustainable, liveable and internationally attractive metropolis for the future and to promote it worldwide. As a partner, player, source of ideas and networker, visitBerlin works closely with politicians, business leaders and the urban community to achieve this goal.

For more than 30 years, visitBerlin has been promoting the Berlin brand worldwide. Today, employees in the capital and on all continents are actively working to position Berlin as a tourism and convention metropolis. visitBerlin uses hundreds of events worldwide for presentation purposes and looks after numerous international media representatives on their research trips to Berlin. visitBerlin's Berlin Convention Office acquires conferences, trade fairs and congresses for the German capital. The company also takes the lead in organising events or provides support as a partner in event organisation in the capital.
Sustainable development of Berlin as a destination
Destination management at visitBerlin encompasses all strategic tasks aimed at positioning Berlin as a sustainable and innovative travel destination, thereby securing the German capital's success for the future. This includes close cooperation with tourism and municipal partners in all twelve districts, extensive market research, and analysis of current and future developments and trends in tourism. With Sustainable Berlin, visitBerlin also accompanies and supports the city's visitor economy and event industry on its path to greater sustainability.
visitBerlin also acts as a tour operator and issues the official tourist ticket, the Berlin Welcome Card. The company also runs the Berlin Tourist Information Centres.

Organisation and shareholders
visitBerlin is funded as a public-private partnership by the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises. Part of the budget is generated internally and invested in marketing for the capital city. visitBerlin is considered one of the most successful destination marketing and management organisations in Europe.
The company´s shareholders are visitBerlin Partnerhotels e.V., the State of Berlin, Investitionsbank Berlin, Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH, Messe Berlin GmbH and TMB Tourismus Marketing Brandenburg GmbH.
